Genziana Fernanda Cocktails

Genziana Fernanda plays just as well as a liqueur in a cocktail as it does as a fortified wine. We love to sip it neat or on the rocks with an orange twist, but here are some great ideas for simple and delicious cocktails…

Negroni Biondo (blonde Negroni)

The white Negroni is a classic modern take on the beloved Italian cocktail, and this is yet another play on that drink. Mildly bitter and pleasantly fruity and floral.

1.25 oz. Genziana Fernanda
1.0 oz. blanco/bianco vermouth*
.75 oz gin

Add ingredients to a double old fashioned glass, add LOTS of ice, stir gently to settle the ice.

Garnish: orange peel

* Not DRY vermouth. A blanc/bianco vermouth is a sweet white vermouth and can be found at most liquor stores.

Martini Gamagna

This drink is as easy as can be and can be made in two different and equally delicious variations. Surprisingly easy to sip, you might find yourself making more than one of these. Variation #1 is a simple 50/50 martini, while Variation #2 is a delicious and floral low-ABV treat!

Variation #1

1.5 oz. Genziana Fernanda
1.5 oz. gin
couple dashes of orange bitters

Variation #2

1.5 oz. Genziana Fernanda
1.5 oz. dry vermouth (we love Dolin Dry in this, but you do you)
couple dashes of orange bitters

Combine ingredients in a mixing glass and stir with ice. Strain into a chilled coupe or martini glass.

Garnish: lemon peel

Corpse Reviver #2, the second

When my wife asked me to make her the classic Corpse Reviver #2 recently, I said, “We don’t have any Lillet!” But then I realized…”wait a second…,” and the “Corpse Reviver #2, the second” was born.

This is a complex but easy-to-drink, warm-day sipper that your friends will love.

.75 oz. Genziana Fernanda
.75 oz. gin
.75 oz. Arancello Rosso (or other orange liqueur such as Cointreau)
.75 oz. lemon juice
dash of absinthe

Garnish: none

Combine ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake to chill. Strain into a chilled coupe or martini glass.

Second Hand News

Finally a whiskey cocktail! It’s a complex but easy sipper that keeps surprising as you work your way through it.

1.5 oz. blended Japanese whiskey*
1 oz. Genziana Fernanda
.5 oz. sweet vermouth**

dash of grapefruit or orange bitters

Combine ingredients in a mixing glass and stir with ice. Strain into a chilled coupe or martini glass.

Garnish: none

*a blended scotch or non-smoky Highland or Speyside single malt also works great!
**something lighter like Dolin is ideal, b ut use what you have
